Edinburgh Restaurants offer a wealth of variety when you are ready to eat out in an Edinburgh restaurant. The range of Edinburgh restaurants available is as diverse as the City of Edinburgh itself. The advent of easy and inexpensive travel around Europe, and the rest of the world, has given the local Edinburgh people a very varied taste, and it is no surprise because of the popularity of budget holidays to Spain, that Edinburgh offers a good selection of Spanish restaurants, where you can enjoy tapas, or traditional Spanish fare. Scotland is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK and as you would expect Edinburgh has some great seafood restaurants. If you are a fan of the humble fish and chips, you will not be disappointed because Edinburgh is well served with fish and chip shops, some with attached dining facilities.
Indian food is now the number one food with the British when they eat out, and Chinese comes a close second. Good Italian food has always been popular with tourists and local Edinburgh people, and you will not be disappointed by the range of Italian restaurants and diversity of Italian cuisine on offer. For years Scotland and France historically always had close ties, and "the Auld Alliance" is still very much alive, and lovers of French cuisine can indulge their culinary appetite in fine hotels and independent French restaurants throughout Edinburgh. Thai and Japanese restaurants are also a feature of the Edinburgh restaurant scene, and there have been some notable Thai restaurants opened in the last few years, with a diverse range of Thai cooking available. When you are ready for "a taste of Scotland", all types of traditional Scottish food are on offer in Edinburgh, and you can rest assured that Scottish restaurants feature more than the traditional Scotttish haggis, neeps and tatties (haggis, the traditional dish of Scotland, sweet turnip, and mashed potatoes). We have interesting new restaurant serving Moroccan couscous and even have belly dancers.

It has been part of the Leith Walk scene for more than 60 years but still looks as modern and as fashionable as some of Leith's trendiest eateries.
Vittorias Edinburgh started life as Pompa's Tearoom back in 1936 and has remained the area's favourite diner ever since. You are guaranteed a warm welcome from the owner Tony Crolla, who must be one of the most genial hosts in Edinburgh! Give them a try and you won't be disappointed.
